When I’m not poring over a spreadsheet or writing a Python script, you can probably find me in the air. Recreational flying and aviation are a side passion of mine, right up there with data intelligence. I’m a geek, and proud of it.
This past weekend, as I was conducting my pre-flight to head up the coast and visit friends, I was struck once again by how data-rich aviation really is and how closely it parallels the work we do in our industry. We rely on massive amounts of data delivered in the right manner, at the right time, and through the right interface. Knowing how to use that data effectively and intelligently not only helps me get to my destination safely, it helps our customers make informed decisions about one of the biggest investments of their lives: their homes.
Artificial intelligence has become a staple in today’s data-driven world, but let’s be clear: this revolution isn’t about replacing human judgment. It’s about empowering people with the right information at the right time.
Whether I’m deciding on an alternate route around unexpected weather or an assignment system is matching an appraiser to a complex property, the goal remains the same, leverage data and technology to support human expertise.
Across both industries, one thing has become clear: the most sophisticated AI is only as powerful as the humans who interpret and act on its insights. The future belongs to those who can blend technological capability with human intuition, creating results that neither could achieve alone.
